Tips On Stopping Smoking Quickly

If you ask anyone who has spent a long time smoking, they will tell you they feel it is very difficult if not impossible to quit smoking without help. These tips on stopping smoking can get you on the path to kicking the smoking habit fast. Try one or all of them and be sure to start now.

If you know what causes you to light up a cigarette, you are well on your way to success with stopping smoking once and for all.

1. Make a promise to yourself that you are going to quit. Also, let everyone know you are quitting. Set yourself up for success by being accountable.

2. Remove all tobacco products, ashtrays, and cigarette lighters from your living spaces at home and at work. Be sure to rearrange furniture in your home if it represents a temptation. Move that comfy chair you always sit in to partake of a cigarette and you will remove a lot of unnecessary temptation to smoke.

3. You should know that certain people, places and situations can tempt you to smoke; even when you don't really want to. Old habits die hard, so avoid unnecessary tempting situations.

4. Don't talk yourself into having a cigarette; that is self sabotage. Sometimes we will make ourselves believe that because we had a tough day at work that we deserve a cigarette. Not true this is just an excuse. Don't break your new routine.

5. You should know that the most important battle you will face in quitting smoking will be the one that rages in your mind. Don't let a lack of information cause you to go off track. Get on the internet and do a little research. Find out how you can support your efforts at the mental level.

As you can see, some of these tips on stopping smoking are easier to start than others. Don't get caught up in planning so much that you fail to start. The real secret to kicking the habit is getting started. Start small and build up your confidence. I wish you every success in your efforts.
